What Is Al Hezb El Comedy Academy?
In the past decade, Al Hezb El Comedy has been on the forefront of the stand up comedy industry in Egypt, organizing over hundreds shows, attracting thousands of audience members to enjoy great nights of comedy across Egypt, UAE, London and Edinburgh. Being dubbed as “Egypt’s first comedy factory” by CNN in 2013 has made us realize that the next step in developing the industry is to teach the art of stand up comedy in the most professional atmosphere that invites creativity and passion. With a diverse and extensive curriculum, we invite anyone to join our classes that want to learn the fundamentals of stand up comedy all the way to advanced techniques that will help you get your start in performing.

The Learn, Perform and, Earn Program is designed to make you become a stand up comedian as quick as possible.
Learn
You will learn how to prepare a five minute set. A “solid five” as it’s called in the business is the foundation of your future one hour set. You know all those comedians that you watch on Netflix and YouTube that stand in front of a live audience and completely blown away at the fact they’re making a group of complete strangers laugh? During the course. you will learn inside secrets on how they make it all happen!
Perform
After the 6 week workshop, the students will have an opportunity to showcase their set in front of a live audience.
Earn
After that, you will be thrown into the pool of our and upcoming comedians that have guaranteed spots in our lineups and start their professional career as a stand up comedian. You will be exposed to the community of comedians, venues, and you will be put into our database for future classes to keep on enhancing your craft.

Who is Your Instructor?
Hashem El Garhy
Founder and CEO of Al Hezb El Comedy, Egypt’s 1st and Official Platform for Stand Up Comedy, Hashem El Garhy is a self-proclaimed “comediapreneur”, half comedian, half entrepreneur with a business administration and marketing background. Hashem has been performing stand up comedy for the past 13 years so you know he must be awesome! Throughout that time, he has been blessed to perform in Cairo, Alexandria, London, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Montreux International Comedy Festival in Switzerland and in Dubai for the taping of Comedy Central Arabia’s “Comedy 3al Wagef”.
He went back to UAE in January 2020 with Al Hezb El Comedy for the Sharjah Fringe Festival and produced the highly acclaimed tour “Sharjah belmasry” which was one of the best-selling shows there, while also selling out two shows in Dubai and again in 2021 and 2022 under the newly created “Comedy belMasry” show.
In December 2021, he co-organized bringing international super-star comedian Russell Peters to Egypt for the first time under his new international organizing arm “Make Some Noise Middle East” which is co-founded with R Productions.
He consults companies and coaches startups and works with them on developing their strategies to reach their target customers effectively. He also founded the boutique agency Entertopia Entertainment, a total solutions entertainment company spearheaded by Al Hezb El Comedy. He’s so awesome that he wrote this in third person.
